About InsideMiso Art

Leidy Torres
InsideMiso Art, founded by Cuban dancers Leidy Torres and Kenzo Carrión in Miami, blends deep cultural roots with innovative contemporary dance and multidisciplinary creation. Trained at the prestigious National School of Arts in Cuba (ENA), both artists bring a rigorous foundation and a poetic, experimental vision to their choreographic and educational work.
Since its inception, InsideMiso Art has been actively engaged in Miami’s creative landscape, offering workshops and classes at various studios and academies. Their teaching approach focuses on movement composition, improvisation, and creative autonomy, encouraging dancers to explore their voice through the body.
The company’s performance work has reached international stages. In 2024, InsideMiso premiered “IN REALTIME” at the Festival Internacional de Danza Contemporánea de la Ciudad de México, in collaboration with Proyecto Zoom, a work that explores migration, freedom, and emotional memory through the body. That same year, the company created “AVE”, a choreographic installation in partnership with Venezuelan artist Muy Blanco, as part of the launch of NATURURBAN and its visual art exhibition — merging movement, nature, and visual design in a shared immersive space.
Over the last two years, InsideMiso has steadily expanded, not only through performances and teaching, but by building bridges across disciplines and communities. With projects like Miso Social Club, an outdoor gathering space for movement and reflection, the company is nurturing a creative hub that welcomes artists, movers, and thinkers to collaborate, question, and reimagine together.
InsideMiso Art is more than a dance company — it’s a platform for embodied research, shared creation, and artistic connection.

“IN REALTIME” is a powerful choreographic work that explores the emotional and social landscapes shaped by migration, disconnection, and the longing for freedom. Structured in four evocative scenes, the piece reflects on labor, faith, systemic structures, and personal truth — inviting the audience into a raw and intimate experience of the human condition. The work premiered at the 9th Edition of the Festival Internacional de Danza Contemporánea de la Ciudad de México, in collaboration with Proyecto Zoom..
IN REALTIME
AVE is a performance inspired by the behavior of birds and their interaction with sound in natural environments. This piece merges contemporary dance with the expressive rhythms of nature, exploring how movement can arise as a direct response to sound.
Just as birds adapt their gestures and trajectories to the acoustic landscape, AVE investigates how the human body can echo those instinctive reactions creating a dialogue between biology, space, and artistic expression.
This work premiered in collaboration with Muu Blanco and his audiovisual installation NatuUrban Symphony, transforming the performance into a shared ecosystem of movement, sound, and immersive experience.
